Reflection
Reflection
This semester we did the all school music video, a letter to Northwest, and also we started brain storming for our class video. I personally did a lot of script writing and editing. The most meaningful things so far have been the all school music video because the school needed to be united for a positive reason again. I have gotten a lot of much needed practice with script writing and doing things by myself and realized how much i love to write and see my ideas come to life with complete control and no censorship. I installed final cut pro on my laptop at home and have gotten really familiar with it and how to get exactly what i want. An alternative choice for me would have been to work on my independent short series more and i will most likely continue it in some form after high school in college.

Personal Project Review
I had this crazy idea of launching a mini web series that i never thought would be a reality. But once i downloaded final cut pro onto my laptop the idea seemed very much real. I came to my partner in crime, Logan with the idea and once he was on board i knew that it was something that we had to attempt. At first our plan was to have a loose idea of what the episode was going to be and just do everything else ad-lib or off the top of our heads like we have done in the past on smaller projects. But once we actually started to film the first scene we ran into one of the problems of not having a script which were the awkward silences and having to do about seven or eight takes. Once i told Morris my idea she gave me an idea of doing more of a Saturday Night Live type deal with having everything scripted and then going off script every once in a while. It took me about a week and a half to write a script that i was satisfied with. The tricky thing was finding the time that we needed to shoot everything with us both having pretty busy lives. We only have a few hours a week to film in school so we had to really plan out our shooting schedule. We had to redo scenes because of lost audio about three times. And we also had the problem of shooting after school with still having enough lighting to have the shot look good. We took a two week break in between shooting because we had no times that worked for either of us and the third person we needed for it to work. But even though the episode did not turn out how i originally had planned it i think that it was a very good learning experience with time management. And doing more than just writing and acting but also directing and trying to get what is in my head onto film which for me, was the most challenging part. Episode 1 was just the beginning and we are going to try to have eight episodes in the first season.

How to do a backflip Safely In 8 steps
http://whitelines.com/trick-tips/backflips-with-elias-elhardt.html#GhpArDDwuX8qUcAv.97
For the the first 3 steps it is important to stay low and find a good center of balance and if you hope to land the trick then you will need to keep your eyes straight. After keeping your eyes straight it is vital to square your shoulders to the jump once you have reached the halfway point. Lastly it is ideal to straighten out once again when you are closer to the ground so you do not catch the edge of your board on the ground. Once you hit the ground then absorb the shock of the landing with your knees by bending them. And now that you have successfully landed your first backflip and it is time to celebrate.
The authors main argument is that most difficult part of completing a backflip is building up the confidence to do it without backing out halfway through.

Music Video
We chose to do a video by Tyler, the creator named Yonkers because it was challenging but also do-able with the studio. The most challenging thing was between learning the lyrics and the mannerisms (which Matt failed to accomplish) and also figuring out how we could do the lighting to match what they did in the music video. Also researching was very interesting because of the double meanings behind all of his lyrics.

North By Northwest
1) The film was about a man that was mistaken for a government agent. Then he has to outrun the law across the country a meets a stunning damsel who turns out to be an agent herself. In the end he finds the real agent and clears his name.
2) The sound was very good for being shot in the late 50's and the lighting was great for having to go back in and add the color after.
3) The story was one of action, romance, adventure and was told through the adventures of roger thorn hill
4) i will apply the great action scenes and also the great close-ups
5) how wide shots mixed with extreme close-ups make up great action
6) the creator did a good job with casting and location
7) he could improve on some audio and also with color correction
8) I am not mad at you for making us watch it, because i get the reason behind it.
